SENG CHEW HUP KEE (MALAYSIA) SDN BHD, a private limited Company established in 1983 is engaged in the growing, packing and exporting of all kinds of fresh tropical fruits both by air and sea from Malaysia to EU Countries (Netherland, France, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland), UK, Canada, China, Hong Kong, UAE, Iran, Turkey and Egypt. The main fruits exported regularly include starfruits (carambola), papayas, pineapples and jackfruits and other seasonal fruits namely mangosteen, rambutan, guava, dragon fruit, mango and fresh lime. The Company pioneered the export of starfruit and papaya to Hong Kong in early 1980 and commercialized the export of minimally processed jackfruits (tray pack) innovated by MARDI to the Netherland and Dubai in 2005/2006 It has 16 acres of starfruit farms and more than 50 contract farms and a supply source of individual growers engaged in the growing of all kinds of fruits which covers over 500 acres in the state of Selangor, Perak, Johor, Negeri Sembilan and Pahang. Fruits are sorted, inspected, graded and packed in their own packing house situated in Kajang which is around 1 to 3 hours drive from the contract farms. The packing house is equipped with two cold rooms (totaling 5000 sq..ft.) built adjoining to the packing area for pre-cooling and cold storing of the produce after packing prior to export. The Company adopts Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and Food safety measures across all its contract farms/growers and conducts stringent quality control and inspection of the produce before it is graded and packed for export. Their starfruit, jackfruit and pineapple farms are certified by our Department of Agriculture under the Malaysian farm accreditation scheme (SALM) that meets our country’s Good Agricultural practices. The starfruit farms are GlobalGap certified to meet the requirements of the EU countries starfruits (carambola) importers.
